The Canon IXUS 285 HS A Digital Camera features a 20.2MP 1/2.3" High-Sensitivity CMOS sensor paired with the DIGIC 4+ image processor. These together produce notable good quality imagery and a sensitivity up to ISO 3200, then together form the Canon HS SYSTEM to maintain low noise results for a clearer image quality.
You will also be able to enjoy continuous shooting at up to 7.2 fps and full HS 1080p video recording at 30 fps.

25-300mm Equivalent Focal Length Range

The 12x optical zoom lens offers you a 25-300mm equivalent focal length range that covers wide-angle to telephoto perspectives. To assist in the process of minimising the appearance of camera shake while taking still or video footage, you will find the built-in Intelligent IS Image Stabilisation system to assist, especially at long distances.
For still shooting, you will find a variety of image stabilisation modes available. These include Normal IS, which is ideal for everyday use, and Panning IS, which detects deliberate panning movements and does not compensate for these movements, allowing the desired panning movements. Macro (Hybrid) IS corrects for shift-type camera shake that usually occurs when working with close-up subject matter.
In Video recording mode, you will also find a variety of IS modes. Including Dynamic IS, which is ideal for everyday use to record at wide-angle focal lengths. While working at the telephoto end of the zoom range, Powered IS is used to minimise hand shake.
Mocro (Hybrid) minimises the appearance of shake when walking as well as compensates for shift-type shake that occurs when working with close-up subject matter.

Built-In Wi-Fi

The Canon IXUS 285 HS A Digital Camera features built-in Wi-Fi with NFC that allows you to wirelessly share images and video with a linked smartphone or tablet. You can also operate your camera remotely from a connected mobile device using the Camera Connect App available for free download to both Android and iOS devices.
Without the need to navigate the menu, you will find a dedicated Wi-Fi button on the camera body to expedite the process of connection to a mobile device for easy sharing between devices.

461k-dot LCD

At the rear of the Canon IXUS 285 HS A, you will find a 3.0" 461k-dot LCD monitor used for composing your shot, navigating the menu and reviewing photos and video.

Hybrid Auto

The Canon IXUS 285 HS A Digital Camera features the Hybrid Auto function that records up to four seconds of video prior to a still photo. Then, the two types of imagery are automatically combined into a short video recap.
With Creative Shot mode, various compositional elements, such as colour and lighting elements, are combined in the original image to produce a new image with an artistic flair.
The Story Highlights Mode produce a highlight reel with music and effects added for playback. This is done by taking videos and photos over a day or an event.
